Newberry LibraryThis project Reimagines the library’s identity through the lens of reading rhythm and the structure of knowledge. Drawing inspiration from a spatialized punctuation system, the design reflects the pauses, flows, and movements of thought.
Logo
Logo juxtaposes serif and sans-serif typefaces to symbolize the dialogue between traditional and contemporary literature. This pairing reflects the library’s role as a space where the boundaries
of translation and linguistic context are explored, connecting historical depth with modern expression.
Printed CollateralsUsing a system inspired punctuation marks, the design translates pauses, flows, and connections into a visual language. Each of them weaves together typography, archival imagery, and a coded line system to evoke how visitors move through the library.
Spatial ApplicationThis large-format wall poster piece translates literary quotations into a visual reading rhythm. Punctuation becomes an architectural element, structuring how visitors move, pause, and reflect within the space.
WayfindingWayfinding graphics are integrated directly onto glass surfaces, allowing punctuation to float within the architecture.
InteriorThis interior application introduces a spatialized punctuation system into the library, using pauses and marks to guide reading and movement.
